Fire and Aesthetics - Incorporating Outdoor Fireplaces into Landscapes

Outdoor Fireplace
Fire is possibly the greatest invention of mankind and the best way of naturally paying homage to this discovery is by incorporating it into our outdoor living spaces in the form of fire pits, outdoor fireplaces and fireplace insert. You can indeed set up a fire pit in any outdoor place you choose, be it in your deck, patio, near your pool, or garden. Also fire pits can be conveniently transported anywhere, in case you decide to carry it along to a friend’s house.
An outdoor fireplace is certain to become the primary attraction in an evening outdoor party. It feels like gathering around the campfire. Who would not enjoy such a gathering on a chilly winter evening?  And some will sure want to use the open fire for roasting marsh mellows and hot dogs. It could also be used for the purpose of serious cooking. Modern day fireplaces are equipped with spits, rotisseries, tripods, and grates. The process of such outdoor cooking might be a little more difficult but nonetheless it is meant to provide the joy associated with primitive outdoor cooking.
There are a number of other advantages of incorporating fire into your landscapes/swimming pools. Fire pits and outdoor fireplaces provide warmth in the back yards after sunset. Further, they also produce natural light. The unpredictability of a natural outdoor fire pit sets itself above any other source of artificial light. Besides, fire pits and outdoor fireplaces have distinct visual benefits. When a fire pit is laid adjacent to a swimming pool, it creates a perfect balance between two totally opposing components of nature- water and fire. Such a contrast can indeed be a pleasure to the senses.
However, one should be careful of not setting a real fire in a fire pit. Instead a fireplace insert should be used and gelled along with appropriate fuel to create the fire. It's indeed much safer to use a fireplace insert for an unprotected fire could cause serious fire damage to the patio. Further, gel fuel can be simply and conveniently extinguished in no time which means that you need not wait for the fire embers to die before wrapping up your party.
Installing a fire pit in your outdoor living area will make the space cozy, useful, and attractive all at the same time. Fire pits and outdoor fireplaces give new meaning and life to our backyards which are important extensions of our living area as we come to spend more time in these areas.
